Role overview
This position is for a Host/Hostess in the Food & Beverage and Culinary department at a Marriott property in Singapore. The role focuses on welcoming guests, managing seating flow, and supporting smooth restaurant operations at the front of house.
Key duties
- Greet guests as they arrive, make them feel welcome, and escort them to their tables.
- Handle reservations and coordinate seating plans efficiently.
- Keep menus organized and maintain the host stand in good order.
- Track open dining areas and identify cleaned tables that are ready to be re-seated.
- Estimate wait times, manage the waiting list, and help ensure guests are looked after while they wait.
- Answer phone calls, take table bookings, and combine tables when needed for larger groups.
- Support serving duties when necessary, including delivering dishes and assisting with clearing and resetting tables.
- Communicate clearly with team members and engage effectively at work.
- Build trust and rapport with guests to support customer confidence.
- Work cooperatively within teams and contribute to effective coordination.
- Interact professionally with food and beverage guests and provide attentive service.
- Follow workplace safety and health practices and procedures.
- Contribute to productivity improvements and service quality control.
- Assist with decision-making and problem-solving at a supervisory level when required.
- Support the enforcement of quality procedures and service standards.
Role details
This is a full-time, non-management position based onsite at 30 Beach Road, Singapore 189763. The job is not remote.
Preferred profile
Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or GED-equivalent qualification. Prior related work experience of under 1 year is preferred. No supervisory experience is needed, and no license or certification is required.
