Role Overview
Rosewood Red Sea is seeking an AC Technician to support climate control operations in an ultra-luxury resort setting. The role is focused on keeping guest rooms, villas, and shared spaces comfortable through reliable HVAC performance, while reflecting the property’s high service standards and its “A Sense of Place” approach.
The position calls for a practical, flexible professional who can work well with others, respond quickly to issues, and also assist with wider engineering tasks whenever needed to help maintain smooth day-to-day operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Run and maintain HVAC equipment such as FCUs, AHUs, FAHUs, split units, and ventilation systems.
- Maintain steady temperature and humidity levels throughout the resort.
- Check equipment performance regularly and make operational adjustments when required.
- Assist with systems linked to district cooling, including heat exchangers, chilled-water piping, and control valves.
- Help ensure effective heat transfer and balanced system performance.
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance on HVAC assets.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair problems in cooling and air distribution systems.
- Replace filters, belts, and other worn-out parts as needed.
- Keep air systems clean and efficient through filter cleaning or replacement and duct inspection where applicable.
- Support hygiene and air-quality standards in guest areas and food and beverage spaces.
- Participate in third-party indoor air quality checks and help keep equipment and filters free from dust to support regenerative tourism standards.
- Respond quickly to guest complaints related to air conditioning and HVAC performance.
- Resolve issues with minimal disturbance to guests while maintaining resort comfort levels.
- Document maintenance work, readings, and completed repairs accurately.
- Escalate major faults, repeated problems, and system inefficiencies to the relevant supervisor.
- Maintain clear handover notes for the next shift.
- Ensure preventive maintenance activities are completed through the CMMS platform in a fair and compliant manner.
- Assist other engineering disciplines whenever support is needed.
- Cover temporary duties during staff absence or vacation periods to keep operations continuous.
- Work effectively in a multicultural environment with professionalism and respect.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues from different cultural and professional backgrounds.
- Take part in annual performance reviews and work continuously on technical growth.
- Attend training sessions and other development initiatives to strengthen skills and system knowledge.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or certification in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration, or a closely related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance, ideally within resorts or hotels.
- Strong working knowledge of air-conditioning systems such as FCUs, AHUs, and split units.
- Basic understanding of refrigeration principles and hands-on control systems.
- Prior exposure to chilled-water systems and district cooling interfaces is preferred.
- Ability to read basic technical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Basic awareness of health and safety practices.
- Good English communication skills; additional languages are an advantage.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Physical ability to perform HVAC maintenance duties.
