Job Summary
The role calls for an ELV technician with CCTV-related experience, particularly in installing, repairing, replacing, and maintaining security systems. The technician will work under the general direction of the Project Engineer and may also be asked to carry out skilled support tasks such as minor carpentry and drilling when needed.
Core Responsibilities
- Fit security system devices and components, including printed circuit boards, cameras, motion detectors, and electronic locks, as directed by the Project Engineer.
- Run and terminate structured cabling for systems such as CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection.
- Handle installation and servicing of intrusion alarms, CCTV, and access control solutions in commercial properties as well as premium residential settings.
- Visit customer locations to complete installation, troubleshooting, and service assignments.
- Work effectively both on your own and within a team, showing initiative and a proactive approach.
- Stay organized and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Communicate clearly in both spoken and written form.
- Use test instruments, including a digital multimeter, to check electrical values such as voltage.
- Operate hand tools and compact power tools such as drilling machines, screwdrivers, and cutters safely and correctly.
- Interpret technical drawings, product datasheets, and written work instructions accurately.
- Apply existing knowledge of electronics and security technologies, including IP surveillance, intrusion detection, access control, and electronic power supplies, where available.
- Use practical judgment to fabricate parts and cables so installations are completed successfully.
- Coordinate closely with the Project Engineer throughout the job.
- Follow standard safety practices and maintain safe working habits.
Education
A high school qualification is the minimum requirement. An IT diploma will be considered an added advantage.
Experience
Applicants should have at least 2 years of experience with a security services company. A UAE driving license will be advantageous.
Additional Information
This position involves technical field work at different customer sites and may include support tasks like minor carpentry and drilling as part of installation work.
