About the role
This opportunity is for an ELV Project Manager to join a major engineering contractor in Frankfurt, Germany. The role focuses on coordinating and planning the people, materials, and subcontractors needed to deliver ELV and ICT project scope successfully.
Key responsibilities
- Work under the Electrical Project Manager and help deliver the assigned ELV and ICT system packages.
- Review IFC documents, design drawings, and specifications, then raise and follow up on RFIs and technical queries.
- Support BIM coordination so construction drawings, fabrication drawings, and isometrics can be produced.
- Contribute to RAMS, method statements, and permit-to-work documentation.
- Align engineering activities with the project programme, prepare take-offs and the Engineering Materials Report, and track procurement, submittals, and field need dates to prevent delays.
- Oversee site installation quality for ICT and AV infrastructure, BMS/DCOS systems, fire detection and alarm systems, fire radio link systems, physical security systems, and controls containment/cable management.
- Check materials, workmanship, and compliance with applicable codes and specifications.
- Support testing and commissioning activities.
- Provide weekly progress and risk updates covering WBS progress, late deliveries, design shortages, and third-party constraints, and escalate unresolved issues to the Electrical Project Manager.
- Ensure design and installation practices meet relevant standards for ICT and data centre works, including IEC 60364, ISO/IEC 11801, EN 50173, IEC 14763-2, EN 50174, TIA-568, TIA-569, TIA-607, and TIA-942.
- Confirm that applicable panels, racks, or assemblies comply with EN/IEC 61439.
- Coordinate fire alarm interface requirements in line with DIN 14675.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of fire detection and alarm systems in compliance with DIN 14675 and local authority requirements.
Requirements
- An engineering qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of prior project management experience.
- Background with a mechanical or electrical contractor, including exposure to ELV systems such as security and mechanical-related systems.
- A demonstrated track record of coordinating and managing projects effectively.
- Strong electrical knowledge and hands-on electrical experience.
- A trade background.
