Role Overview
The Document Controller will be responsible for organizing, maintaining, and safeguarding project documentation in line with company procedures and industry requirements. This role ensures that records are properly managed, easy to retrieve, and compliant with internal and external standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain an orderly document control process for technical drawings, reports, specifications, and other project records.
- Make sure documents are properly classified, archived, and accessible according to project needs.
- Coordinate document exchanges, submissions, and approvals with project managers, engineers, and regulatory authorities.
- Receive, log, and register all technical documents within the company system.
- Check documents for updates and support maintenance of quality control records.
- Work with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to manage document submissions and approval workflows.
- Keep both electronic and physical records in accordance with company procedures.
- Use the company system and client processes correctly when submitting documents.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, or a similar field. A minimum of 10 years of overall experience is required, including at least 5 years in document control management, preferably on metro rail or major infrastructure projects. The role calls for high accuracy, strong analytical thinking, solid problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work effectively under deadlines in a busy environment. Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other data handling tools are important.
