What you will do

  • Carry out testing of electronic and electro-mechanical products, including low voltage, 110V, 230V, 440V and E.H.T. equipment, by following the relevant test instructions or specifications and using the required bench or ATE test setups.
  • Track down faults in equipment down to component level.
  • Fix identified issues or trigger corrective action when needed, while keeping accurate fault records.
  • Identify problems with test equipment and repair them where allowed, or escalate for maintenance support.
  • Keep the work area tidy, maintain strong housekeeping standards, and work in line with safety rules and applicable codes of practice.
  • Complete all hard-copy, digital and ERP records carefully so product traceability is maintained.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities, including 6S and lean manufacturing practices.

What the role requires

  • Proven background in production testing with both commercial and custom analogue test equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with Teradyne ATE platforms, with Teradyne SP9000 being a plus.
  • Confidence in reading and applying manufacturing documents such as drawings, bills of materials, wiring schedules and test specifications.
  • Ability to fault-find to component level and work from circuit diagrams and wiring information with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the flexibility to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Familiarity with ESD controls and IPC-A-610/620 standards.
  • Ability to lift and move test equipment and products, and willingness to occasionally work extended hours.

Preferred background

  • HNC or ONC in Electronics, or an equivalent technical qualification.
  • IPC-A-610/620 qualification.
  • Experience in electrical assembly, precision cable preparation and soldering.

Additional information

This is a full-time, onsite role. The work involves a mix of analogue and digital test activity within a manufacturing environment, and the successful candidate should be comfortable working with physical equipment and supporting production needs as required.
