Data Analyst Internship

Overview

This is an on-site Data Analyst internship in Australia, designed to give practical exposure to live datasets, dashboard creation, and reporting for stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

• Collect information from several sources such as databases, spreadsheets, and APIs.
• Prepare and clean datasets so they are accurate, complete, and consistent.
• Spot missing, incorrect, or unusual data and resolve data quality issues.
• Carry out basic statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Support senior analysts with deeper analytical tasks when needed.
• Build dashboards and reports using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Present findings in a clear, visual, and easy-to-understand way.
• Help prepare weekly and monthly performance reports.
• Maintain databases and keep records updated.
• Write simple SQL queries to extract, filter, and manipulate data.
• Work with different teams to understand reporting and data requirements.
• Use data insights to support recommendations and process improvements.
• Document methods, workflows, and analysis outcomes for future use.
• Stay current with tools, techniques, and trends in data analysis.
• Take part in training sessions and team discussions.
• Contribute to basic predictive modelling.
• Automate reports using Python or Excel macros.
• Support real-time data monitoring activities.

Skills and Qualifications

• Comfort with SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Python, and Pandas.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jupyter Notebook, Git, and Google Sheets is an advantage.
• Currently studying or recently finished a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Commerce, or another quantitative discipline.
• Must have the right to work in Australia.
• Availability to work on-site throughout the internship period.
• Strong focus on data accuracy, documentation discipline, and willingness to learn enterprise data processes.
