Role overview
This position is based at Aldridge, with the option to work remotely after you have been trained on Biffa systems. The schedule is Monday to Friday.
You will support Group Engineering by driving continuous improvement, digital transformation, and stronger data governance through Microsoft Power Platform tools. The role focuses on improving reporting, automation, asset management, project monitoring, and performance analysis so the business can work more efficiently, maintain compliance, and make better decisions. You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Procurement, IT, and external organisations to make sure engineering systems and data support wider business goals and the engineering transformation plan.
What you'll do
- Create and improve Power BI dashboards, KPI scorecards, and reporting tools that highlight asset performance, compliance, maintenance activity, project status, and operational efficiency.
- Build and support Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, SharePoint-based solutions, and Microsoft Lists to simplify engineering processes and cut down manual administration.
- Maintain and optimise engineering platforms such as FleetWave, D365, telematics systems, maintenance databases, and mobile plant reporting tools.
- Analyse asset usage, idle time, fuel consumption, maintenance patterns, lifecycle costs, and fleet performance to support better operational decisions.
- Contribute to automation, system integration, standardisation, and wider digital improvement across Group Engineering.
- Develop and maintain governance and tracking tools for major engineering projects, asset replacement programmes, and strategic initiatives.
- Keep engineering data, asset registers, compliance information, and financial records accurate, controlled, and aligned with governance requirements.
- Work with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Procurement, IT, and external partners to deliver scalable digital solutions that strengthen business performance.
What we're looking for
- A full UK driving licence.
- Strong hands-on capability with Microsoft Power Platform tools.
- Proven experience creating Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Practical experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Microsoft Lists.
- Background in analysing engineering, operational, maintenance, or asset management data.
- Experience in data analysis, reporting, and improving business processes.
- Ability to work across and manage multiple datasets and business systems.
