Role overview
This position is based at the Terrace End retail branch in Palmerston North and involves supporting customers by phone, email, and in person. The role focuses on handling queries, requests, and concerns, including issues linked to damaged or undelivered freight. It also includes general administrative work to help keep a busy branch operating smoothly.
The on-call setup means you may be asked to step in whenever needed, such as to cover sickness, extended leave, or busy delivery periods. The schedule is designed to offer flexibility while still contributing to an essential service.
The on-call availability window is Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:45pm, and Saturday from 8:30am to 12:15pm.

What you will do
Your day-to-day work will involve assisting customers and delivery partners, resolving service issues, and carrying out the administration needed to keep the branch running efficiently. The work is varied and fast-paced, so strong problem-solving and adaptability are important.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is comfortable being available on call, can travel to work at short notice, and has the confidence to communicate with people from all backgrounds through face-to-face conversations, phone calls, and email. You should also be organised, accurate with data entry, and able to think quickly to find practical solutions.
