직무 설명
About the role
The House of Commons Administration supports Members of Parliament and their staff by delivering services that help parliamentary democracy function effectively. This opportunity sits within Digital Services and Real Property, in the Real Property Services directorate, and offers a chance to contribute to an organization where your work can be seen and have impact.
As Curator, you will oversee a team of specialists and collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders across the Parliamentary Precinct, including parliamentarians, the Speaker, the Clerk, and House Administration.
In this senior and highly specialized role, you will provide strategic and intellectual guidance on the institution’s history, material culture, traditions, and ceremonies. You will act as the main advisor to the Speaker and parliamentarians on heritage, collections, and ceremonial matters, while also advising senior leaders on the significance, condition, and authenticity of important artefacts to support high-level decision-making.
You will help shape how some of Canada’s most significant historical objects are acquired, conserved, and presented. This includes artworks, furnishings, architectural features, and ceremonial items that bring the history of Parliament to life for Members of Parliament, Canadians, dignitaries, and visitors.
Alongside preservation work, you will contribute to exhibitions, public engagement, and special initiatives that make Canada’s parliamentary history more accessible and compelling.
