About Polus Capital Management
Polus Capital Management is a global alternative credit investment firm with roughly $14 billion in assets under management across multiple strategies, including performing loans, special situations, and structured credit. Established in 2022 through the combination of Cairn Capital and Bybrook Capital, the firm invests across the capital structure and liquidity spectrum, using fundamental research, quantitative analysis, and structuring expertise to uncover value. Polus operates from offices in London and New York.
Role Overview
This New York-based opportunity is for a US Credit Analyst who will help expand the firm’s investment platform in the United States. The position centers on analyzing US leveraged loan issuers, mainly within CLO portfolios, and playing an active part in the end-to-end investment process.
What You Will Do
- Source opportunities in the primary and secondary US leveraged loan markets by applying detailed credit analysis and relative value work.
- Construct detailed cash flow models and build strong sector-specific expertise.
- Track credit and market developments to produce prompt trade ideas and recommendations.
- Work closely with sell-side analysts and capital markets professionals to strengthen investment decisions.
- Contribute across the full investment cycle, including origination, underwriting, monitoring, and trade recommendation support.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in the financial sector, with exposure to credit research, leveraged finance, or private credit.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with advanced analytical and financial modeling ability.
- Solid knowledge of leveraged loans and high-yield bonds, including issuers, industries, debt structures, and legal documentation.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to excel in a flat, collaborative team environment.

Compensation
The expected base pay for this role is between $100,000 and $200,000 per year, before bonuses or benefits. The final salary will depend on the candidate’s background, qualifications, experience, education, skills, training, and other role-related factors. The employer may update this pay range at any time.
