Chemical Technician

Role overview

This position is based in Singapore and supports chemical manufacturing operations in an API environment. The role focuses on safe, compliant production execution, accurate documentation, equipment care, and shift-based coordination to keep the plant operating smoothly and ready for audits.

Key responsibilities

• Follow approved standard operating procedures and apply operational know-how in daily work.
• Take product samples from process equipment in line with SOP requirements.
• Track process trends and respond to alarms on DCS DeltaV and PLC HMI control systems.
• Support investigations by sharing impact analysis and recommending appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain complete and accurate records in accordance with GMP expectations.
• Carry out routine equipment cleaning, including manual cleaning, CIP, and COP, following approved instructions and SOPs.
• Keep the plant well maintained, perform regular housekeeping across rooms, and raise issues promptly so the site remains audit ready.
• Oversee the proper collection, segregation, and disposal of chemical waste according to SOP.
• Help maintain a safe workplace in line with regulatory and local/global EHS requirements.
• Apply a solid working understanding of process safety, cleaning changeover recipes, and unit operations used in API manufacturing.
• Communicate clearly with team members on process status during the shift and during handover, and report events or issues to the supervisor.
• Support commissioning and validation activities when required.
• Complete assigned training and compliance activities, including scheduled training, OJT, JSA, ILT, and read-and-understand procedures.
• Help ensure production stays on the planned schedule and inform the shift supervisor early if delays are likely.
• Maintain strong data integrity practices in all tasks and records.
• Handle additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Support the promotion of Antaes services while assisting the client.

Requirements

• NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Engineering, or a closely related technical qualification.
• At least 1 year of experience in a chemical manufacturing or GMP-regulated environment.
• Hands-on experience with DeltaV and MES systems.
• Comfortable working 12-hour rotating shifts, including day and night shifts.
• Strong problem-solving ability, plus good interpersonal and communication skills.
