Role overview
Apleona is hiring a Chef/Cook for a residential care home in Newbridge, County Kildare. This is a part-time, on-site opportunity suited to someone who can work flexibly across 3 days out of 7.
Working pattern
The role averages 16 to 20 hours per week. The shift window is 9:30 to 19:00, and flexibility is needed to cover three days across the seven-day schedule.
Contract type
This position is offered on a temporary basis, with the contract length ranging from 3 months up to 1 year.
Key responsibilities
- Create well-balanced daily menus that deliver high-quality meals and align with customer expectations.
- Accommodate client needs, including any special dietary requirements.
- Maintain strong standards of health and safety, along with full HACCP compliance, in the catering area.
- Take part in all required training sessions.
- Work in line with workplace procedures and company policies.
- Escalate all complaints to the manager without delay.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar food service setting.
- Good command of English.
- Genuine interest and enthusiasm for food and ingredients.
- Dependable, approachable, and easy to work with.
- Positive, proactive, can-do mindset.
- Must be able to pass Garda vetting.
