Role overview
The organization is seeking Ceph Storage professionals for its Kolkata location. The position calls for 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in managing enterprise storage environments, with a strong focus on Ceph cluster operations and support.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Ceph clusters, including monitor nodes and object storage daemons.
- Improve storage performance for block, object, and file-based workloads by applying appropriate tuning and optimization measures.
- Continuously observe cluster health, resource usage, and capacity through platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, and the Ceph Dashboard.
- Investigate and fix difficult storage issues, including placement group inconsistencies, OSD outages, and rebalancing problems.
- Apply data protection strategies such as replication, erasure coding, and snapshot handling.
- Use automation tools like Ansible, Python, and related scripting approaches to streamline routine operations and infrastructure tasks.
Required experience and technical background
- Practical, production-level experience operating large Ceph clusters.
- Strong Linux administration skills, especially with distributions such as RHEL and Ubuntu.
- Good understanding of networking concepts, Linux networking, and distributed system behavior.
- Ability to write scripts in Bash, Python, or Go for automation and tooling.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes storage orchestration, especially Rook.
