Role Overview
The Career Coordinator supports student achievement by shaping, running, and reviewing career services initiatives across several campuses. Working with limited oversight, this position helps students explore career options, build plans, and prepare for professional opportunities.
What You'll Do
You will partner with faculty members, staff, and outside organizations to create and present career development activities such as workshops, programs, and events that connect students to internships and jobs. The role also involves helping manage career services operations, including employer outreach, career fairs, and online career tools.
In addition, you will meet with students to understand their career goals, offer one-on-one guidance, and provide support with resumes, interview preparation, and job search planning. You will also help evaluate how well the programs are working, review outcomes, and suggest improvements that strengthen services for Midlands Technical College students.
Location
This role is based at the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus in Lexington County, South Carolina.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required, along with experience working in student services programs.
Preferred Background
Preference will be given to candidates with a master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related discipline, plus experience in college career services.
