Role overview

Cisco’s Strategic Programs team, which sits within Growth Operations, leads strategic, high-impact work that improves operating efficiency and supports scalable growth. The team concentrates on areas such as recurring revenue metrics, partner growth metrics, validation and automation efforts, and policy-related initiatives. By partnering with stakeholders across business and technology functions, the group identifies opportunities to simplify workflows, enable automation, and strengthen operational effectiveness. It also helps assess customer and business needs, construct business cases, and shape solutions that support Cisco’s changing business model.

What you will do

In this Business Operations Analyst role, you will work where strategy, operations, and technology intersect. The position centers on recurring revenue metrics and validation programs, with a strong emphasis on improving efficiency through automation and process redesign.

You will work with business, data, and technology teams to define validation approaches, build testing plans, and confirm alignment with product and program goals. You will also review current workflows, spot opportunities for improvement, and put automation in place to reduce manual work and shorten cycle times.

Key responsibilities

• Create and deploy automation approaches that minimize manual effort in testing and validation activities.
• Build test plans, write detailed scenarios, capture outcomes, and prepare combined test reports.
• Plan and coordinate Business Acceptance Testing activities and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to confirm readiness for validation.
• Examine recurring revenue metrics, partner incentive data, and operational information to support strategic initiatives.
• Work with partners in meetings, stand-ups, and feedback sessions to keep work aligned with program goals and product direction.
• Detect complex operational issues and help drive them to resolution when they affect execution or business priorities.
• Review existing processes, find gaps, and recommend technology-based improvements that increase scalability and efficiency.

Minimum qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Customer Experience, IT, data, operations, consulting, or a related business area, plus a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Background working with software or SaaS business models.
• Hands-on experience with testing, validation workflows, or Business Acceptance Testing.
• Ability to develop business cases and analytical models that inform decisions.
• Experience reviewing operational processes and improving them through automation or technology solutions.

Preferred qualifications

• Familiarity with Cisco business processes, tools, policies, and how data moves across systems.
• Experience collaborating with global teams across business and technology settings.
• Strong presentation and executive communication abilities, including data-driven storytelling.
• Ability to break down complex problems and turn them into practical solution structures.
• Experience delivering process redesign or automation initiatives that reduced manual effort with measurable business impact.

Compensation and benefits

The posted starting salary range for U.S. and/or Canada locations is $92,000 to $123,800 annually, before incentive compensation, equity, or benefits. Final pay depends on the hiring location, market conditions, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and training.

For certain locations, additional salary ranges may apply. The listed full ranges are:

• New York City Metro Area: $114,400 to $171,300
• Non-Metro New York State and Washington State: $100,200 to $153,200

U.S. employees may receive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with company matching, paid parental leave, short- and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance. Eligible employees may also receive Cisco restricted stock units that vest after continued employment for defined periods.

Paid time away may include 10 holidays each full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees, 1 paid birthday day off, a year-end holiday shutdown, 4 personal wellness days, 16 vacation days per full calendar year for non-exempt employees, flexible vacation for exempt employees, 80 hours of sick time provided on hire date and every January 1 thereafter, carryover of up to 80 unused sick hours into the next calendar year, additional paid time off for critical or emergency family matters, and an optional 10 paid volunteer days per year.

Non-sales employees may also be eligible for annual bonuses under Cisco policy. Sales-plan employees may receive performance-based incentive pay, subject to the applicable plan. The posting also notes that Illinois employees, whether exempt or non-exempt, participate in a special time-off program to meet local requirements.
