Business Analyst

Role overview

HDFC SKY is looking for a Business Analyst to work from Mumbai and help strengthen business processes, requirements management, and systems effectiveness across teams.

Objectives of the role

• Build understanding of business needs across functions and uncover weak system or process areas by reviewing live operational data.
• Act as a key contributor on technical business processes by shaping prototypes that improve productivity and efficiency.
• Design and roll out clear project management plans, ensuring communication stays transparent at every level.
• Carry out and communicate quality checks throughout the system development lifecycle.
• Define and refine user requirements for live systems so that the end solution is as usable as possible.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with stakeholders from different business units to create analysis outputs and documentation in a collaborative manner, while coordinating effectively with production, management, and leadership teams.
• Review, assess, and communicate system requirements on an ongoing basis, and keep system workflows updated, including sharing monthly status updates with relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare, revise, and distribute internal and external documentation, and formally manage the handoff of requirements and related materials.
• Monitor systems every day to improve performance and resolve issues.
• Build strong working relationships with partners to support better system integration, and answer manager and executive queries with research-backed recommendations.
• Create UAT scenarios, test cases, and test data that align with business processes.
• Run UAT cycles and validate results during testing.
• Track, record, and manage UAT defects, and work with development teams to close them out.

Required skills and qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of experience in analytics and systems development.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL.
• Solid analytical capability.
• Experience preparing process documents and reports.
• Exposure to the capital markets domain.
• Understanding of equity, derivatives, mutual fund, and commodities trade settlement.

Preferred skills and qualifications

• B.E., B.Tech, MCA, or any graduate qualification.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to turn data into practical insights.
