Role overview
This opportunity is with a fast-growing retail business in Athlone that is recognised for strong value and solid customer service. The company has been expanding quickly through new store openings and is looking for people who could grow into future store management positions. The position offers a salary of up to €45,000.
As Assistant Manager, you will support the Store Manager and lead a capable team while helping increase sales and store performance through efficient retail operations. The role places strong emphasis on lean working methods, financial control, and maintaining high standards across customer service, compliance, and store presentation.
Key duties
- Oversee the daily running of a department and keep operations on track.
- Step in as Duty Manager for the full store when the Store Management team is unavailable.
- Support the Store Manager in meeting company performance targets.
- Motivate the team to provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Maintain high standards in merchandising, stock handling, shrinkage control, and administration.
- Follow all health and safety rules, policies, and legal requirements.
- Review management information and use it to guide commercial decisions.
