Role overview
This position is focused on growing aftermarket service sales and supporting business development for mtu power generation and critical infrastructure applications across the assigned portfolio. The role is centered on building durable customer partnerships, increasing service-related revenue, and reinforcing the company’s market presence in mission-critical sectors.
Relevant sectors include data centres, critical infrastructure facilities, utilities and energy, industrial power generation, mission-critical facilities, and government or institutional infrastructure. The role suits professionals who have worked in uptime-sensitive environments where reliability, responsiveness, and lifecycle support are essential.
What you will do
- Expand service sales for mtu power systems and related aftermarket offerings within the assigned territory and customer base.
- Develop new business while also growing and retaining existing accounts.
- Promote service agreements, maintenance contracts, upgrades, retrofits, spare parts, and technical service solutions.
- Identify opportunities in mission-critical and infrastructure markets, particularly data centres and power continuity applications.
- Support direct and distribution-led sales approaches.
- Track the sales pipeline, forecasting accuracy, customer activity, and revenue outcomes.
- Work toward incoming order targets, revenue targets, and profitability goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, consultants, operators, contractors, and channel partners.
- Advise customers on lifecycle support and reliability improvements.
- Carry out customer visits, technical conversations, and commercial reviews.
- Collect market, customer, and competitive insights to inform planning.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction through effective account handling and issue resolution.
- Support the growth of the service network and ongoing improvement of service capabilities.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and commercial offers in line with company and compliance requirements.
- Ensure quotations and supporting documentation are submitted on time.
- Contribute to pricing, contract discussions, and commercial negotiations.
- Improve service revenue and margin across the installed base.
- Execute approved sales plans and business initiatives.
- Manage key strategic accounts in critical infrastructure and industrial sectors.
- Create account plans aimed at retention and long-term growth.
- Coordinate with internal technical, service, operations, and engineering teams to meet customer needs.
- Drive engagement across stakeholder groups and strengthen business relationships.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in service sales, aftermarket sales, business development, or account management in industrial or power systems industries.
- Strong background or exposure to critical infrastructure environments is highly preferred, especially data centres, mission-critical facilities, backup power systems, power generation, utilities, industrial infrastructure, energy, or heavy industry.
- Experience with diesel generators, gas generators, UPS systems, power solutions, or industrial engines is an advantage.
- Prior experience managing distributors, channel partners, or strategic accounts is preferred.
- Demonstrated success in meeting service sales targets and developing customer relationships.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Commercial mindset with solid business judgment.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-moving and demanding environment.
- Good problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-driven, proactive, and focused on results.
- Chinese language skills are beneficial for regional customer engagement.
- Willingness to travel within the region for business, approximately 20%.
Additional information
This role is based in Tukang, Singapore, West Region, and is an onsite position in Jurong East / West Singapore.
