Role Overview
Panda Restaurant Group is looking for an experienced leader to support store operations and help drive a single location toward strong results. In this role, you will help oversee hiring, team supervision, and daily execution while making sure guests receive a high-quality experience. The company also provides paid leadership training, mentorship, and ongoing development to help you succeed.
Key Duties
As an Assistant Manager, you will support the overall running of one store. Your work will include guiding associates, helping manage staffing, and contributing to financial performance. You will also help maintain service standards and support a positive guest experience.
Training and Growth
Before taking on the full responsibilities of the role, you will complete a store leadership training program lasting 3 or more weeks. Panda also emphasizes long-term development through coaching, leadership training, education support, and opportunities to advance into management roles.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a pay range of $26 to $29 per hour, along with bonus potential. Full-time associates may be eligible for medical, vision, dental, short-term disability, cancer income protection, life insurance, and AD&D coverage, as well as a pre-tax dependent care flexible spending account and 401(k) with company match. Additional benefits include paid time off, paid holidays, bereavement and funeral leave, a Leave Share Program, free meals during shifts, referral bonuses, community involvement opportunities, discounts on theme parks and gym memberships, and continued education assistance and scholarships. Benefit eligibility depends on meeting the required conditions, and the company may change or end bonus programs at any time.
Working Conditions
This is a hands-on restaurant leadership role in a fast-paced environment. Work may involve standing for extended periods, preparing hot and cold food, using a Chinese cook knife and other kitchen tools, and lifting up to 50 lbs. The workspace can be hot, noisy, and tight, with limited storage and high shelving. The role also requires the ability to communicate clearly, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and manage difficult situations or conflicts effectively.
Company Background
Panda Restaurant Group was founded in Glendale, California in 1983 and has grown into the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. The organization focuses on delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences while building a workplace centered on family values and community impact.
