About Mandai Wildlife Group

Mandai Wildlife Group manages Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a distinctive wildlife and nature destination in Singapore. The reserve is home to internationally recognised wildlife parks and is being transformed through an ambitious renewal plan. This plan will bring together five wildlife parks with nature-led experiences, open green spaces, and an eco-conscious resort, all within the area next to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve.

  • Create, implement, monitor, and periodically update animal care and keeper safety protocols, including all emergency and safety drills.
  • Work with Veterinary Services to support the best possible health outcomes for the living collection.
  • Oversee zoological operations for the section and guide team leadership and staff development.
  • Prepare preliminary budgets for review and approval.
  • Initiate and assess new animal programmes and review the performance of existing ones.
  • Plan, design, coordinate, and supervise new exhibit construction, exhibit improvements, and related support facilities.
  • Support the implementation of behavioural husbandry programmes.
  • Draft, review, and revise policies, procedures, and operational documents relevant to the section.

  • At least 8 years of experience leading professional teams in a zoological environment.
  • Experience with structured visitor experiences is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interest and proven knowledge in biology, zoology, and the captive management of a broad range of species.
  • Good understanding of zoo animal welfare and behavioural husbandry practices.
  • Ability to apply a scientific, evidence-based approach to ex-situ population management and animal care.
  • Awareness of key conservation issues, including the role of zoos in the one-plan approach and the one-health concept.
  • Well-developed organisational ability, including document control and the drafting of protocols and related documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and motivate staff.
