Role Overview
The Area Operations Manager will report to the Regional Operations Manager and take charge of coordinating operations managers, lot coordinators, local operations, sales activity, and financial performance across the assigned area.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain high standards for professionalism, personal presentation, vehicle condition, work habits, customer service, and a clean, safe workplace.
- Build and nurture relationships with existing customers as well as potential new clients.
- Participate in weekly regional operations meetings with the Regional Operations Manager and Operations Managers.
- Join monthly meetings with Regional Operations Managers to track progress against goals and expectations.
- Visit every store in the territory each week.
- Take part in weekly regional and EchoPark conference calls.
- Meet in person with associates to address concerns, daily priorities, constraints, and planning across all stores.
- Attend trade walks and/or morning team huddles every day.
- Review nightly WIP emails and reports to identify improvement opportunities, support needs, and overall location health.
- Respond once per week to each store’s nightly WIP emails and reports.
- Send weekly summary emails to store management for all stores in the area.
- Make sure daily billing is completed at every location in the region.
- Partner with the Regional Operations Manager on budgeting, staffing, and planning to support current business needs.
- Review monthly P&Ls and work with the Regional Operations Manager on financial improvements.
- Ensure all location visits and calls are logged and documented in NetSuite.
- Review and process requisition and SCF forms.
- Check and correct missing punches and punch changes each day.
- Submit bi-weekly Amex reports.
- Send monthly schedules to Human Resources by the 25th of each month.
- Ensure all payroll for the area is submitted within the required deadlines.
- Review and/or submit supply orders for all stores in the area.
- Prepare monthly Risk Compliance reports for the area.
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities for the area.
- Stay current on new supplier products and keep technicians informed about available options.
- Drive efficient, effective day-to-day operations.
- Be fully capable of performing all Operations Manager and Lot Coordinator responsibilities.
- Oversee the successful rollout of new products, policies, practices, and procedures.
- Communicate daily with the Regional Operations Manager and all assigned Operations Managers and Lot Coordinators.
- Provide timely data, updates, and business information to the Regional Operations Manager.
- Handle additional tasks assigned by the Regional Operations Manager, including duties beyond those listed above.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Prior management experience is required.
- Strong communication skills and solid time management are essential.
- A college degree is preferred.
- Comfort with Mac OS and Microsoft Office is required.
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment background check is necessary.
- Candidate must be able to work well in a fast-moving environment.
- A positive attitude is expected.
