Role overview

As an Analyst in Accounting & Reporting, you will take ownership of the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting and month-end close activities. The role requires strong discipline in applying US GAAP, maintaining SOX controls, improving processes, and producing reliable MIS that supports management decisions. You will also work closely with a global team and key stakeholders to keep operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations, and track follow-ups on unresolved items.
  • Ensure all accounting activities comply with US GAAP requirements.
  • Maintain effective controls to support a high level of accuracy in line with internal guidelines.
  • Handle intercompany transactions.
  • Carry out cash application and netting activities for intercompany customers and vendors.
  • Prepare and post rule-based journal entries accurately.
  • Manage the full set of accounting tasks required to close the books, working closely with local teams and business partners.
  • Review audit issues and ensure they are resolved within agreed timelines.
  • Coordinate with local teams to stay aligned on processes and to close issues quickly.
  • Carry out assessment cycles to support smooth month-end movement from the FI module to the PA module.
  • Execute accounting work in line with defined SOPs.
  • Periodically review SOPs and suggest changes when needed, in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX guidelines.
  • Contribute to standardisation, continuous improvement, and other business-partner initiatives.
  • Respond promptly to queries from local business teams.

Required qualifications

  • B.Com or MBA.
  • Strong working knowledge of Indian GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS.
  • Good command of Google Suite.
  • Hands-on SAP experience.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to manage people well.
