Role overview
An established, award-winning chartered accountancy firm in County Meath is looking for an Accounts Technician to strengthen its expanding team. The position offers the chance to work with a wide mix of clients while enjoying flexible working arrangements and room for professional growth.
What you will do
- Prepare supporting schedules and financial statements in line with the relevant accounting standards and internal procedures.
- Compile management accounts on a quarterly and half-yearly basis.
- Complete and submit VAT, VAT RTD, and RCT returns.
- Assist with drafting year-end files.
- Carry out bank reconciliations.
- Handle client questions promptly and professionally.
- Work both on your own initiative and as part of a wider team.
- Provide support on additional tasks and ad hoc assignments when needed.
Experience and qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in a comparable role within an accountancy practice.
- An Accounting Technician qualification or IPASS certification.
- Strong people skills and clear communication abilities.
- Well-developed organisation and time management skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to take responsibility for your work.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working under pressure and meeting several deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel at intermediate level or higher.
- Practical experience with Sage Accounts.
- Experience using Accounts Production software such as CCH or a similar system.

Working pattern
Monday to Thursday: 8:30am to 5:30pm.
Friday: 8:30am to 2:30pm.
Flexible working hours are available.

County Meath, Ireland, close to the M50.
