About the Company

Its BCBAs, case supervisors, and technicians work alongside families to build treatment plans that match each child’s specific needs.
Role Summary
The ABA Authorization Specialist oversees the approval process for ABA therapy services so clients can access care without delay and in line with insurer rules and internal standards. The role partners with clinical staff, insurance payers, and internal teams to secure, monitor, and renew service authorizations while helping maintain continuity of care.
Compensation
The position pays an hourly rate of $24 to $25, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, submit, and oversee initial, concurrent, and reauthorization requests for ABA therapy
- Keep authorization timelines under review and follow up with payers to secure approvals on time and avoid gaps in care
- Track usage against approved hours and monitor end dates so renewal requests are filed within the required window
- Share authorization decisions, denials, changes, and requests for more information with the relevant internal teams
- Work with BCBAs and clinical staff to collect treatment plans, assessments, progress notes, and other supporting documents needed for submissions
- Check payer-specific authorization rules and stay current on commercial insurance, Medicaid, and managed care requirements
- Help address authorization problems, denials, and appeals when needed
- Keep authorization data accurate and up to date in CentralReach and other internal systems
- Ensure activities remain compliant with payer policies, HIPAA, and company procedures
- Assist with reporting, audits, process improvements, and other administrative work as assigned
Qualifications
- An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Psychology, or a similar discipline is preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in healthcare authorizations, insurance verification, utilization management, or another related administrative healthcare role
- Prior experience handling ABA therapy authorizations is strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of authorization workflows, commercial insurers, Medicaid, and managed care plans
- Hands-on experience with CentralReach, especially the Authorizations Module
- Comfort using Google Workspace tools such as Sheets, Docs, Gmail, and Drive
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment
Preferred Experience
- Background in behavioral health, ABA, or pediatric healthcare
- Exposure to appeals and denial resolution
- Experience working with several insurance carriers across multiple states

This is a full-time remote position based in California, United States. The role is centered on helping children and families maintain uninterrupted access to high-quality ABA services through efficient authorization management.
