Surveillance Security Guard

Role overview

We are hiring a Surveillance Security Guard for Kirkfield in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. This position is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail who can notice small changes quickly while monitoring live security feeds and site activity. The role focuses on preventing issues before they grow, using strong observation, sound judgment, and steady attention.

As part of the security team, you may work in settings such as security operations centres, call centres, construction sites, parking lots, and gatehouses.

Key duties

• Watch security systems closely and identify anything unusual or suspicious
• React promptly to incidents, risks, or emerging threats
• Keep clear written records and prepare detailed incident reports
• Carry out regular foot patrols to help maintain site safety
• Manage entry to restricted areas and verify visitor identity when needed
• Review security systems to spot possible weaknesses or technical issues
• Coordinate with police or other authorities during emergencies or serious events

Qualifications

• Must be legally permitted to work in Canada
• Must hold a valid security licence
• First aid certification is required
• Ability to write reports clearly and accurately
• Strong vision and the capacity to stay focused for long periods
• Comfortable using technology and security-related systems
• Must be able to stand and walk for the full shift
