About the Role
The Support Service Worker position is responsible for the hospitality functions within the aged care home. This includes food preparation, catering, cleaning, and laundry support. The role is also about building positive connections with residents, their families, and care staff to help support resident choice and contribute to a welcoming home environment aligned with the organisation’s values and quality-of-life goals.
Key Duties
- Prepare and serve food and beverages for dietary services.
- Support the chef with meal preparation, kitchen cleaning, and general kitchen tasks.
- Deliver meals to residents and assist with dining room service.
- Carry out cleaning tasks across resident rooms and the wider facility.
- Complete required records, documentation, and incident/reporting tasks.
- Check that handwashing supplies are stocked and replenished as needed.
- Help maintain the laundry service, including checking and labelling items.
What You Need to Bring
- A current NDIS Worker Clearance, or a willingness to obtain one, is mandatory.
- Must have legal working rights in Australia.
- Experience in hospitality or customer service in a busy, fast-paced setting.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Knowledge of resident rights and aged care accreditation standards and outcomes is well regarded, though not essential.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay between $27.18 and $29.79.
- 17.5% leave loading.
