The Singapore Engineering Competence Centre is an established research and engineering hub that serves major global customers in digital identity and security, covering areas such as mobile connectivity, IoT, banking and payments, and government solutions.

Role objective

This internship is focused on exploring open-source AI stacks and industrial AI service providers, building prototypes that improve operational efficiency or customer experience, and helping move these prototypes toward production readiness.

What you will do

• Research and build with areas such as RAG, agentic AI, and managed AI services, creating proof-of-concepts that demonstrate new ideas.
• Design, develop, and improve tools and functions aligned to specific business unit needs.
• Experiment with fine-tuning approaches to adapt models for domain-specific tasks and improve their accuracy and usefulness.
• Work closely with the supervisor to understand how AI can be applied in real business scenarios.

Requirements

• You should be a Computer Science student with a solid grounding in Data Science.
• Strong practical knowledge of Python, Docker Compose, and basic Linux commands is needed.
• You should be comfortable using open-source frameworks and tools, including GitHub.
• The ideal candidate is analytical, works well independently, and approaches problems proactively and with an open mind.
• You must be able to commit full-time for about 6 months, with a minimum commitment of 5 months.
