About Riley
Riley is an enterprise intelligence platform that helps organizations understand what actions to take next. Its Customer Data Orchestration System brings together signals from product usage, support interactions, research, revenue data, competitive intelligence, and other sources into a single, context-rich foundation. Built on top of that layer, Riley’s Adaptive Intelligence Engine evaluates patterns, highlights risks and opportunities, and suggests the most valuable actions to improve growth and retention. Rather than static dashboards, teams receive clear decisions about what to build, where revenue is being lost, and how the market is shifting.
The company works with mid-market and enterprise customers that want to convert data into action instead of noise. This is a small, close-knit team that values first-principles thinking, fast learning, and enjoying the process of building together.
Benefits mentioned include competitive compensation, healthcare coverage, meaningful equity ownership, and a wellness allowance that can be used for things like marathon shoes, cold plunges, massages, matcha subscriptions, mechanical keyboards, or anything else that supports your well-being.
Role Overview
As an early engineering hire, you will collaborate closely with the founders and help shape important technical decisions that influence the company’s direction. You will build product experiences that affect how organizations use data for strategic decision-making.
What You Will Work On
- Designing and delivering full end-to-end user experiences for a collaborative product insights platform, including automated data synthesis and teamwork workflows.
- Translating complex machine learning output into clear, attractive, and easy-to-understand interfaces for people with different levels of technical background.
- Creating and improving rich, interactive frontend components that feel fast and polished.
- Keeping the application dependable and performant while upholding strong standards for code structure and software design.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Demonstrated success leading and delivering major zero-to-one product efforts.
- Strong interest in browser internals and building excellent, high-performance user experiences.
- Experience building and launching scalable applications with AWS, Python, Django, and React.
- Solid understanding of web infrastructure and how it supports premium user experiences.
- Ability to connect engineering choices with product and business priorities, while balancing speed and quality.
- A strong focus on design quality, correctness, and thorough testing, with a craftsman-like approach to improving your work.
- Curiosity and a willingness to contribute beyond engineering, including go-to-market, customer development, people-related work, and marketing.
