Overview
Analog is building the next era of physical intelligence. The company aims to bring the benefits of digital intelligence into the real world, helping cities become more responsive, industries more robust, services more people-focused, and everyday experiences more impactful.
Its platform is centered on living world models that are constantly refreshed and expanded through every sensor, device, and interaction. At the core of this system is Ana, Analog’s neural agent, which interprets, adapts, and directs activity by turning raw inputs into actionable foresight and coordination across many use cases, including protection of high-value assets and improved human performance.
Role Summary
The Smart Contract Engineer will build advanced protocol components that support machine-verifiable commitments, state attestations, and autonomous coordination in decentralized systems. This position combines protocol research with systems engineering and contributes to the infrastructure behind next-generation physical intelligence, where digital protocols verify and coordinate real-world actions.
Responsibilities
- Create cryptoeconomic designs that support provable commitments and programmable state changes.
- Investigate identity, attestation, and reputation mechanisms for decentralized settings.
- Build secure approaches for cross-network coordination while reducing trust dependencies.
- Define security assumptions and adversarial threat models for protocol modules.
- Develop prototypes and run benchmarks for new consensus or validation approaches.
- Work with engineering teams to turn research concepts into production-ready systems.
- Prepare technical specifications and research-oriented documentation.
- Support audits and formal security assessments.
- Participate in the wider research ecosystem when relevant.
- Contribute, where possible, to publications, open-source research, and intellectual property work.
Requirements
- Solid grounding in distributed systems, cryptography, or applied mathematics.
- Hands-on experience with blockchain or decentralized protocol design.
- Strong understanding of consensus mechanisms and cryptoeconomic incentives.
- Exposure to digital identity, attestation frameworks, or verifiable data models.
- Ability to program in Rust, Go, or a similar systems-level language.
- Capability to translate theoretical designs into practical implementations.
- Experience with zero-knowledge systems or verifiable computation is a plus.
- Knowledge of decentralized identity (DID) or credential standards is advantageous.
- Background in mechanism design or formal protocol modeling is beneficial.
- Prior work on L1/L2 or interoperability protocols is a plus.
- Published research or contributions to open-source protocol projects are preferred.
What Working at Analog Offers
- A collaborative, globally minded culture focused on building the future of physical intelligence, with values of curiosity, courage, and creativity.
- The chance to contribute to work with national and global importance, spanning adaptive cities, resilient infrastructure, sports, entertainment, healthcare, and energy.
- Strong learning and career development opportunities through collaboration with leaders in AI, robotics, mixed reality, and systems engineering.
- A competitive compensation package that includes healthcare, education support, and generous leave benefits.
