About the Team
The site engineering team supports the delivery of high-quality projects through close collaboration, technical accuracy, and a strong focus on safety. Working with senior engineers, the team handles day-to-day site activities, documentation, and inspections to ensure work aligns with project requirements and quality expectations.
Role Overview
As a Senior Site Engineer, you will take ownership of site operations in assigned work areas and help ensure that construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with approved drawings and specifications. This role suits an experienced construction professional who can lead execution, coordinate across multiple stakeholders, and support timely project completion on complex building projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and implement engineering methods, method statements, and work planning for the allocated scope.
- Coordinate engineering outputs and requirements with subcontractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
- Check drawings, technical submissions, and red-line revisions to support accurate construction and as-built records.
- Oversee site execution to confirm compliance with approved designs, specifications, and construction sequencing.
- Carry out internal checks and work with QA/QC teams on inspections, material approvals, and quality closure activities.
- Spot technical issues or deviations, recommend corrective measures, and track the effectiveness of those actions.
- Work with subcontractors and QA/QC personnel to close NCRs, complete snag items, and respond to consultant observations.
- Help enforce HSE procedures through proactive planning and active daily presence on site.
- Attend planning sessions, short-term look-ahead meetings, and coordination discussions with other disciplines.
- Track progress for the assigned scope and submit daily and weekly updates to the Section Manager.
- Support testing, commissioning, and final inspection readiness, including coordination of required documents.
- Use your technical and discipline-specific knowledge to deliver strong-quality outcomes in your area.
- Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by management to support business needs.
Skills and Competencies
- First aider certification
- Strong grasp of drawings, technical specifications, and engineering standards
- Ability to lead site delivery across several trades and disciplines
- Experience preparing method statements, inspection requests, and technical submittals
- Strong problem-solving ability for on-site technical issues
- Effective coordination and stakeholder communication skills
- High attention to quality control and specification compliance
- Understanding of planning, sequencing, and resource forecasting
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of BIM workflows, document control systems, and commissioning processes
- Understanding of local authority regulations and inspection procedures
- Experience supporting testing, commissioning, and closeout stages
Qualifications and Experience
A degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience is required. The role also calls for more than 10 years of experience in the field.
