Role Overview
This position is responsible for keeping the facility clean, sanitary, and safe so warehouse and production activities can run efficiently. The work centers on thorough cleaning, equipment sanitation, food-safety compliance, and accurate recordkeeping.
Key Duties
- Clean shared spaces such as break rooms, offices, restrooms, and production zones.
- Remove waste and keep work areas orderly.
- Sanitize floors, machinery, and other facility surfaces following established procedures.
- Record completed cleaning work in line with company documentation standards.
- Break down and reassemble machine components when required to complete sanitation tasks.
- Support pre-operational checks to help maintain food-safety compliance.
Sanitation Knowledge and Work Style
Success in this role depends on practical experience with facility and equipment cleaning, familiarity with food sanitation practices, and the ability to follow structured cleaning schedules. A strong sense of urgency, consistency, and attention to detail is important for maintaining a safe operating environment.
Physical and Equipment Requirements
The job involves frequent movement and physical effort, including walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, stretching, and climbing. You must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and handle equipment and tools with good hand-eye-foot coordination. The role also involves using sanitation tools and systems such as squeegees, bailers, sprayers, and foam equipment.
Safety and Teamwork
Understanding workplace safety practices is essential, and familiarity with lock out/tag out procedures is helpful. The role also calls for clear communication with sanitation teammates and supervisors, the ability to work independently when needed, and a willingness to respond to coaching and feedback.
Core Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
- Ability to follow safety rules, work instructions, and food-safety standards.
- Capacity to stay active through frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, stretching, stepping, and climbing.
- Ability to move equipment or product weighing between 70 and 100 pounds.
- Basic math ability for cleaning records and measurement accuracy.
- Comfort receiving supervision and meeting performance expectations.
- Ability to contribute effectively in a team setting.
Preferred Experience
- Previous exposure to equipment safety practices, including lock out/tag out.
- Background in food production or sanitation work.
- Ability to work efficiently with limited direct supervision.
- Strong focus on detail and cleaning standards.
