Sanitation Technician

Role overview

Kraft Heinz is hiring a Sanitation Technician for its food processing facility in Jacksonville, Florida. The role is best suited to someone who is focused on safety and product quality, works well in a fast-moving team environment, and is open to suggesting improvements that help the plant operate successfully.

What you will do

• Keep the full plant environment clean and sanitary, both inside the buildings and in outdoor areas.
• Carry out routine cleaning of machinery and nearby work areas.
• Take responsibility for maintaining, handling, and cleaning sanitation tools and equipment.
• Complete required records and documentation for government regulators and company standards.
• Use cleaning materials and equipment efficiently and responsibly.
• Support green room activities by tracking sanitation performance through quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale measures.
• Take part in the company’s idea and suggestion process to support continuous improvement.
• Manage daily duties in line with expected work standards.
• Help train new employees in the department.

Schedule and pay

The starting pay is $24.40 per hour, with annual pay increases. This is a second-shift role working Monday through Thursday from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am. Overtime may be needed based on business requirements.

Skills and qualifications

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic arithmetic ability, and the ability to pass a basic computer skills assessment. Ongoing sanitation training is mandatory and will be provided. The role also requires proficiency in SAP, knowledge of safety requirements, KSRMP and GMP practices, and the ability to operate fork trucks and obtain a license.

Physical demands

This position requires frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs throughout a 10-hour shift. It also involves regular bending, reaching, lifting, and other physical movements. The job may require working in tight spaces and confined areas, and staying physically active for long periods during the shift.
