PwC New Zealand is seeking an Associate-level Analyst to join its Internal Audit team in Christchurch. Key responsibilities

• Assist in delivering internal audit assignments by following project plans, carrying out audits and business process reviews, and testing risks, controls, and compliance across both financial and operational activities.
• Assess whether key controls are designed well and operating effectively, then identify weaknesses, emerging risks, and realistic improvements that fit the business context.
• Draft precise, well-structured audit papers and reports, and communicate observations clearly to both internal engagement teams and client contacts.
• Support delivery management by helping maintain workplans, timelines, and the quality of outputs across engagements.
• Work constructively with colleagues, contribute to a positive team culture, and help share knowledge or assist junior team members when needed.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in internal audit and/or a risk-related role, including exposure to audit work, risk assessments, and business process reviews.
• Strong written communication skills with developing report-writing ability and the capacity to explain risks, control issues, and practical recommendations clearly.
• Good understanding of risk frameworks, internal control concepts, and business processes, including assessment of control design and operating effectiveness.
• Comfort using audit tools and technology to support testing, documentation, and analysis.
• Working knowledge of IIA Standards and internal audit methodology.
• Confident verbal and presentation skills for discussing findings with engagement teams and client stakeholders.
