ACEREZ, a partnership formed by ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been selected by EnergyCo to act as network operator for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), acting as the design and construct consortium, will be responsible for designing and building the transmission project.
The new transmission network is expected to provide at least 4.5 gigawatts of network capacity from 2028, enabling connection for 7.7 gigawatts of wind and solar generation and helping supply power to more than 2 million homes each year.
Role overview
This position offers the opportunity to support a major clean energy infrastructure project in Australia. The Labourer will work within the Transmission Lines team and contribute to construction, stringing, and installation support for high-voltage transmission lines and related infrastructure.
This is a remote project role on a 14 days on / 7 days off roster. Transport by bus is currently available from Sydney only, with pickup and drop-off points between Sydney and the Mudgee region. Candidates living in NSW outside the Sydney transport corridor must arrange their own drive-in drive-out travel at their own cost. This is not a fly-in fly-out role. Applicants based outside NSW will need to organise and pay for travel to Sydney or to the worksite if hired.
Key duties
- Help assemble and install transmission line structures and related components.
- Support conductor stringing, sagging, and tensioning work.
- Move and manage materials such as poles, fittings, and hardware.
- Assist rigging teams, dogmen, and crane operators during lifting tasks.
- Carry out general labouring tasks connected to civil works and transmission line construction.
- Follow all site safety requirements and environmental controls.
- Work safely at height and in remote outdoor conditions when required.
Skills and qualifications
- Prior exposure to civil construction or transmission line work is preferred.
- Construction White Card is required.
- Working at Heights certification is preferred.
- Basic rigging or dogman ticket is an advantage.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in remote locations are essential.
- A valid driver's licence is required.
- Must be willing to complete a pre-employment medical assessment and police check.
