Role Overview

Hassell is looking for an Interior Designer to join its design team in Melbourne. This role involves contributing to projects in sectors such as workplace, aviation, education, and health, while working closely with architects, strategists, and other designers to develop interior environments that improve how people live, work, and connect.

Key Responsibilities

• Create interior design concepts that are both inventive and practical, while staying aligned with project goals and client expectations.
• Take projects through all phases, including early concept work, space planning, documentation, and final delivery.
• Build strong presentation material such as mood boards, sketches, material selections, and 3D visual outputs.
• Prepare detailed design documentation, including joinery drawings, schedules, and specifications.
• Participate in design reviews and help ensure the work reflects Hassell’s design standards and approach.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and suppliers so the design intent is carried through to project outcomes.
• Support senior team members with project coordination, including budgets, timelines, and communication within the team.
• Keep up to date with current industry trends, materials, and sustainable design methods.

Experience and Qualifications

• You should have at least 3 years of interior design experience gained in a design studio environment.
• Experience on projects within one of the company’s target sectors is essential.
• A degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or an equivalent qualification is required.
• Strong command of Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Enscape or similar rendering tools is essential.
• You need strong conceptual thinking and a sharp eye for detail.
