Role overview

As a Housekeeper in Nursery Operations, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and inviting nursery environment for children, families, and colleagues. This role is based in Barnet, London, within the N Barnet nursery setting.

You will be part of an early-years organisation that focuses on curriculum-led learning, creativity, and preparing children for the modern world. What you will do

• Partner with the nursery team to ensure the site remains clean, organised, and running efficiently.
• Create a friendly and welcoming feel across the nursery for children, parents, and visitors.
• Keep toilets and changing spaces thoroughly clean and hygienic.
• Identify damaged or malfunctioning items and report them promptly to management.
• Manage laundry tasks and help maintain adequate stocks of cleaning materials.
• Water indoor plants and help keep the environment fresh and bright.
• Use suitable cleaning products for a nursery setting and follow COSHH guidance at all times.
• Receive deliveries and store items correctly.
• Support daily hygiene standards so the nursery remains safe, spotless, and presentable.

What the role requires

• Hands-on experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or a similar role.
• Understanding of COSHH rules and general Health & Safety practices.
• A caring, enthusiastic approach and genuine interest in working around children and families.
• Experience handling hazardous substances safely and responsibly.
• Confidence working in a busy, fast-moving environment.
• A consistently positive attitude and strong motivation to get things done.
• A service-minded approach and willingness to help others.
• High energy and a proactive work style.

Compensation and benefits

The salary for this position is £26,437 per year. In addition, the package includes a performance bonus of up to £750 annually and a wide range of benefits.
