Role Overview

The company is hiring a Graduate GIS Technician to join its expanding GIS team in Dublin. The role sits within an established team focused mainly on the gas utilities sector and offers the chance to build technical GIS capability while developing knowledge of the gas industry.

Key Duties

• Capture field information and as-laid records into GIS systems.
• Carry out GIS maintenance and version-control administration.
• Perform desktop research and investigations using GIS tools and supporting documentation.
• Prepare maps for design reports.
• Create mapping for wayleaves and land acquisition work.
• Compile investigative reports.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should bring a solid grounding in GIS and be comfortable working with mapping and data-capture tasks. Strong IT ability, clear English communication, and the capacity to work independently or within a team are all important for success in the role.

Applicants should have knowledge of GIS platforms such as Smallworld GIS, ArcGIS, QGIS, and Google Earth, along with experience in data capture/digitising and versioning administration. A third-level degree or certification in GIS, CAD, engineering, or a closely related field is expected, though equivalent experience may also be considered.
