Electrical Technician

About the Role

Water & Environment Technologies Co., Ltd. (WETCO) is looking for a seasoned Electrical Technician to support operations and maintenance activities in water treatment facilities in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on keeping electrical and control systems running safely, dependably, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance for electrical equipment such as MCC panels, LV/MV switchgear, circuit breakers, motor starters, VFDs, distribution boards, protection relays, and cable networks.
• Identify faults in electrical and control systems, including PLC/SCADA alarms, VFD malfunctions, instrumentation issues, and irregularities in power supply.
• Service and repair electric motors, process pumps, mechanical seals, and bearings.
• Test, calibrate, and resolve issues in process instruments like flow, level, pressure, pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and chlorine analyzers.
• Inspect and maintain motorized, pneumatic, solenoid, and electro-hydraulic valves.
• Assist with upkeep and basic setup of SCADA/HMI platforms, PLCs, RTUs, and communication links such as Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet.
• Perform electrical installation work including cable termination, earthing, conduit and cable tray installation, and upkeep of equipment used in hazardous areas.
• Keep maintenance logs and work orders updated in CMMS systems such as SAP PM or IBM Maximo.
• Follow HSE rules, lockout/tagout practices, permit-to-work procedures, and relevant electrical regulations at all times.

Requirements

• Vocational Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a similar qualification.
• At least 10 years of practical experience in electrical maintenance within industrial environments.
• Solid understanding of electrical systems, motors, industrial control panels, and water treatment plant operations.
• Hands-on exposure to MV/LV switchgear, motor control systems, PLCs, SCADA, and process instrumentation.
• Working knowledge of SASO/SEC standards and electrical safety requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic capability.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
• Safety-focused mindset with a commitment to high operational standards.
• Comfortable working on site and managing maintenance tasks based on priority.
