About the Role

The Community Relations Coordinator helps turn the Winnipeg Football Club’s community strategy into action through youth outreach, school-based programming, public engagement, game-day activations, and special events. Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and execute football camps and related events.
  • Manage appearance requests for the mascot, cheer team, and dance team, ensuring positive experiences for partners and fans.
  • Prepare media advisories, announcements, and other communications for community initiatives, game-day activations, and special events.
  • Write, edit, proofread, and update community content published on the Club’s website.
  • Coordinate community activations on game days, recognition programs, and award presentations, and assist with halftime entertainment planning and delivery.
  • Support the preparation and execution of community-focused home games and special events.
  • Research, draft, and submit grant applications that support community programming and organizational priorities.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with corporate partners, charitable groups, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure participants, partners, and guests receive a high-quality experience at community events and activations.
  • Assist with event support for corporate functions, major events, and Club activities.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform well in a busy, fast-moving environment while managing multiple programs and projects at once and maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, along with leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation abilities.
  • Good working knowledge of digital and social media tools and platforms.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a hands-on role.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends throughout the year.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience planning, organizing, and delivering programs, initiatives, and events; experience in sports, entertainment, or media is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field is preferred.
