Job description

Role Overview

The Youth Worker is responsible for providing supervision and support to young individuals involved in youth justice interventions, helping them comply with court orders and facilitating their reintegration into the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate or actively develop cultural capability to foster an inclusive environment aligned with the Human Rights Act 2019, supporting programs and partnerships that preserve cultural ties for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Provide supervision and assistance to youth in compliance with relevant legislation, departmental policies, statutory mandates, and best practices.
  • Assist the Program Coordinator in maintaining youth justice services.
  • Support young people in adhering to their case plans, ensuring compliance with court directives and community reintegration efforts.
  • Collaborate and negotiate with government and community agencies to improve youth access to services per case plans.
  • Maintain detailed records of program participation, generate reports to support case planning and attend required review meetings.
