Role Overview
The Workforce Welfare Officer will help ensure that workforce welfare practices remain fully compliant across major EPC projects. The position is important for maintaining adherence to UAE labour legislation, MOHRE requirements, and global welfare frameworks such as IFC and ILO, while promoting a safe, respectful, and supportive workplace for employees and site workers.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep workforce welfare practices aligned with UAE labour law, MOHRE rules, and international welfare expectations set by IFC and ILO.
- Arrange welfare audits and ensure all files, records, and reports are complete, organized, and ready for review.
- Track audit observations, compliance shortfalls, and follow-up corrective actions until closure.
- Assist with worker complaint handling and welfare-related concerns through proper grievance channels.
- Deliver welfare inductions, awareness sessions, and employee welfare forums.
- Compile welfare reports, workforce statistics, WPS documentation, and subcontractor-related submissions.
- Work closely with internal teams, subcontractors, clients, and auditors on welfare compliance matters.
- Help drive employee wellbeing initiatives and worker happiness programs.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of experience in a comparable welfare or compliance role, preferably in construction, heavy industry, or Oil & Gas.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Social Work, Industrial Relations, Public Administration, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong understanding of UAE labour law and international workforce welfare standards, especially IFC and ILO.
- Exposure to occupational health and safety practices.
- Proven ability to supervise teams and support large workforce groups.
