What you will do
- Administer and support the Workday Payroll and Benefits modules with a focus on configuration, system upkeep, and data movement.
- Set up and maintain payroll and benefits structures such as earning and deduction codes, benefits plans, eligibility logic, and compensation frameworks.
- Create and update Workday reports, dashboards, business process flows, and approval paths.
- Review configurations through system and user testing cycles to confirm accuracy across payroll, benefits, and connected systems.
- Assist with data mapping and gain familiarity with system integrations, while not owning development work.
- Support the transition from Infor Lawson to Workday by validating configuration workbooks and ensuring setup alignment.
- Take part in testing, data checks, problem resolution, go-live preparation, and hypercare support.
- Work closely with HR, Payroll, and Benefits teams to convert business needs into Workday setup changes.
- Explain requirements and proposed solutions clearly, ask follow-up questions, and challenge unclear inputs in a constructive way.
Required experience and capabilities
- Direct, practical experience configuring and administering Workday Payroll and Benefits.
- Strong background in system setup, configuration management, testing, and validation.
- Ability to support data flow analysis and understand end-to-end HR and payroll processes.
- Comfort working with stakeholders and translating business requirements into technical system changes.
- Preferred exposure to Workday-UKG integrations and timekeeping-to-payroll processes.
Additional notes
This is a remote contract role with possible travel requirements. The role is centered on administration, configuration, and validation rather than software development.
