Requirements

  • Above-average completed university degree (Diploma, Master’s, or equivalent) in sociology or a related social science discipline.
  • Doctorate in sociology or a related social science discipline, required only for the qualification track aimed at gaining further academic competencies.
  • Strong interest in qualitative research and/or in conceptual and theory-driven research.
  • Very good German and English language skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a scholarly setting and collaborate within an interdisciplinary research network.
  • Willingness to pursue academic qualification independently, for example in economic sociology.
  • Particularly welcome backgrounds include economic and financial sociology, sociology of international relations, international political economy, and Science and Technology Studies (STS).
  • The role is a fixed-term qualification position for a doctorate or for further academic qualification, depending on the candidate profile.
  • The contract duration follows Section 2(1) of the WissZeitVG.

Benefits

  • Flexible working hours.
  • Free use of public transport across Hesse through the state ticket.
  • Option to work remotely from time to time.
