Wine Program Specialist | Product Development & Design

Role Overview

This position sits within Qatar Airways’ Product Development and Design function and supports the catering team in delivering a premium onboard wine and spirits experience across the airline’s global network. The role focuses on managing the full lifecycle of the beverage programme, from planning and procurement to logistics, inventory control, content accuracy, and stakeholder coordination.

What You Will Do

• Build demand plans and place orders for wines, spirits, and liqueurs across all cabin classes.
• Oversee the movement and delivery of beverage stock so products are available on time at global locations.
• Track inventory closely and apply bin-end depletion methods to reduce outdated or excess stock.
• Manage rotations of wine and spirit selections in line with programme strategy and operational rollout plans, and communicate updates to the relevant internal teams.
• Keep printed menus and digital platforms up to date with accurate product details.
• Collect, check, and maintain all wine and spirits information needed for menu cards and digital channels.
• Assist with supplier database maintenance, product sampling, technical assessments, and onboarding activities.
• Prepare reports for stakeholders, highlighting performance, potential risks, and key operational findings.
• Handle additional tasks assigned by the Head of Department that relate to this role.

Requirements

• High school or vocational qualification, or a bachelor’s degree, along with at least 5 years of experience in the wine industry, logistics, and inventory control.
• Professional wine qualification such as WSET Level 3, Certified Sommelier, or CSW.
• Strong knowledge of wines and spirits.
• Ability to analyse information and prepare reports.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on data accuracy.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Comfort using MS Office and operational systems.
