Role overview
The Warehouse Specialist will oversee day-to-day stock control and warehouse coordination at Keda Ceramics International Limited in Miwani Ward, Kisumu County. This role focuses on keeping inventory records accurate, supporting material movements in and out of the warehouse, maintaining proper storage and organization, and making sure warehouse processes meet required standards. The position also involves helping with stock audits and keeping weighbridge documentation complete and current.
Key responsibilities
- Join the daily morning briefing to discuss issues from prior shifts, suggest practical fixes, and help drive ongoing process improvements.
- Keep physical inventory fully aligned with the system records and resolve any stock differences.
- Work with the Receiving and Issuing Officer to confirm and validate all incoming and outgoing material transactions.
- Assist the Stock Audit Officer with regular and scheduled warehouse stock checks.
- Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts to support accurate inventory control.
- Handle weighbridge operations and ensure every weighbridge entry is correctly recorded and maintained.
- Update inventory records accurately and prepare stock reports when needed.
- Maintain 6S compliance by keeping the warehouse clean, orderly, safe, and correctly arranged for storage.
- Identify stock variances, document the findings, and suggest corrective measures.
- Ensure all warehouse transactions are properly documented.
- Take on additional tasks assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or management.
Qualifications and experience
The ideal candidate should hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehouse Management, Business Administration, or a similar discipline.
Skills and knowledge
This position calls for a solid grasp of warehouse operations and material handling, strong numerical and analytical ability, and confident use of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel. Prior exposure to ERP or Warehouse Management Systems will be an advantage. Good communication and interpersonal skills are also important.
Work standards
The warehouse environment is expected to remain aligned with 6S standards, with attention to cleanliness, organization, safety, and correct storage practices at all times.
