Job description
Role Overview
This position is for a waiter in Duomo at EDITION in Dubai. The role is part of a full-time, non-management food and beverage team located on site in Downtown Dubai.
Key Duties
- Deliver food courses and alcoholic drinks to guests in line with service standards.
- Arrange tables based on the occasion and the required service style.
- Assist guests with menu choices and answer product-related questions.
- Coordinate with the kitchen on menu queries, preparation delays, re-cooked items, and item availability.
- Relay special meal needs, allergies, dietary restrictions, and custom requests to the kitchen team.
- Enter orders into the MICROS system when the order is taken.
- Check guest satisfaction throughout the meal and after beverage service.
- Keep service areas, crockery, glassware, and related spaces clean throughout the shift.
- Complete end-of-shift tasks such as replenishing supplies and switching off lights.
- Present an accurate physical bill to guests and process payments.
Standards and Work Expectations
- Follow company policies, safety rules, and security procedures at all times.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to a supervisor and complete required safety training.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and protect confidential information and company property.
- Greet guests warmly, recognize their needs proactively, and assist guests with disabilities when needed.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members.
- Build positive working relationships and support teammates in reaching shared goals.
- Maintain quality standards and comply with all service expectations.
- Read and verify information accurately, including small print and other formats.
- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods or for an entire shift.
- Handle lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects up to 25 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Use fine motor skills to grasp, turn, and manage objects of different sizes and weights.
- Move safely across slopes, uneven or slippery surfaces, stairs, and service ramps.
- Reach above shoulder level and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping as required.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Profile
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of related experience, and no prior supervisory background. No license or certification is required.
