Job description
About the Organization
Primary PartnerCare is an entrepreneurial management and technology company supporting a multi-location adult primary care practice, along with New York State’s leading Medicare Shared Savings Program ACO by quality and one of the top 2% of ACOs in the country year after year. The company is looking for a senior operator who can help drive the next phase of expansion and scale across the medical group.
Role Overview
This senior leadership role will partner closely with the CEO and Founder to oversee, guide, and align all operational functions. The position is centered on strengthening multi-site practice operations, advancing growth, and fostering a collaborative culture built around physician excellence, teamwork, and shared decision-making.
The CEO currently serves in both CEO and COO capacities and is looking for an experienced executive to independently own COO-level responsibilities for the medical group while working with the physician board of directors. The intent is to allow the CEO to concentrate on the MSO and ACO. The organization is not trying to fit a rigid template; instead, it wants to bring in the right senior leader and shape the role around that person’s strengths and experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead operational execution for the medical group in close collaboration with the CEO and Founder.
- Build and support a workplace culture centered on physician excellence, collegiality, and shared problem-solving.
- Take ownership of COO functions for the practice and help steer the medical group alongside the physician board.
- Contribute to growth planning and help execute the group’s revised expansion strategy.
- Oversee practice management across multiple sites, from executive-level strategy through front-desk operations.
- Guide physician operations, including recruitment, onboarding, performance tracking, and ongoing management.
- Support business development efforts, including both partner-track and non-partner-track growth paths.
- Assist with legal and structural matters related to physician partnerships, operating agreements, and practice acquisitions.
- Help manage post-merger integration efforts.
- Strengthen teams through hiring support, staff development, coaching, and mentoring.
- Monitor quality assurance and risk management across a multi-site medical group.
- Use data, reporting, and performance analytics to support operational decisions.
- Oversee financial planning, including clinical and administrative budgets, tracking, and controls.
- Ensure compliance systems, policies, and procedures are developed, implemented, and monitored.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community stakeholders.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in a large medical group at a senior level, ideally in primary care or a multi-specialty setting.
- Strong working knowledge of the healthcare landscape, including ACA, MACRA, MSSP, Medical Spend Reduction, NCQA/URAC, STARS, and related programs.
- Proven leadership ability with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong problem-solving capability.
- Track record of succeeding in fast-moving, high-growth environments that demand determination and resilience.
- Natural leadership presence with a drive for change, high standards, and ambitious outcomes.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities while leading both physicians and a growing workforce.
Compensation
The role offers a base salary plus performance-based bonus and equity opportunity.
