Job description

Role overview

This position is responsible for carrying out visual and dimensional checks against the applicable work instructions. The role reports directly to the Operations Leader.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out visual and dimensional inspections, along with area management for assigned parts.
  • Verify that work clearance is in order and that routers, documents, and records are accurate and complete.
  • For incoming inspection work, make sure the condition of incoming parts is logged correctly so the work scope can be defined accurately.
  • For final inspection work, confirm that parts comply with the required specifications.
  • Stop any non-conforming parts from moving on to the next work stage.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers with assessments and audit-related activities when needed.
  • Gather inspection data and share quality-related feedback with Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers when required.
  • Complete planned maintenance and housekeeping duties on schedule.
  • Support other teams with related tasks and handle additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • GCE O Level or an equivalent qualification with 3 years of experience in quality inspection; or
  • GCE A Level or an equivalent qualification with 2 years of experience in quality inspection; or
  • NITEC in Mechanical Engineering; or
  • Any other recognised technical training or certification, subject to case-by-case consideration.

Preferred profile

It will be an advantage to have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and/or Aircraft Engineering, strong written and spoken English, familiarity with defects and flaws, the ability to use precision measuring tools, and the capability to read blueprints. Experience in quality control within a repair or manufacturing environment, good Microsoft Office skills, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach are also desirable.
