Role overview
The Vice President of Real Estate Development will steer the growth agenda for the Real Estate Investments division. This senior leadership position is centered on finding investment prospects, creating strategic alliances, boosting revenue, and broadening the company’s commercial property portfolio.
The role calls for a strong blend of leadership in business development, depth in investment execution, market awareness, and relationship management across the commercial real estate landscape.
Core responsibilities
- Shape and implement the business development roadmap for the real estate investments platform.
- Identify promising investment opportunities, partnerships, and strategic collaborations.
- Drive market-entry and expansion efforts while supporting portfolio growth targets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with investors, developers, brokers, financial institutions, and public-sector bodies.
- Source off-market opportunities as well as institutional-quality investments.
- Own deal sourcing activities, acquisition planning, and pipeline oversight.
- Assess markets, conduct feasibility reviews, and evaluate investment cases.
- Support negotiations for acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships, and development arrangements.
- Work closely with investment, finance, and legal teams through due diligence and transaction completion.
- Review financial performance potential, project feasibility, and strategic alignment of opportunities.
- Lead and mentor business development and investment teams.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
- Strengthen and sustain long-term partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Present investment proposals and business performance updates to senior leadership and investors.
- Track market movements, competitor actions, and emerging trends in commercial real estate.
- Spot new sectors, asset classes, and geographic areas for expansion.
- Contribute to long-range strategic planning and portfolio positioning.
- Support revenue forecasts and reporting on the investment pipeline.
- Partner with finance teams on financial models, investment structuring, and ROI analysis.
- Assist with capital-raising efforts and investor engagement activities.
- Ensure commercial goals remain aligned with growth and profitability objectives.
Qualifications & experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a closely related discipline is required.
- An MBA or master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in real estate investments, business development, or investment management is required.
- Applicants should have a demonstrated history of originating and closing large-scale real estate transactions.
- A well-established network within the real estate investment and development ecosystem is essential.
